RE: Occassional Satellite usage

We have 70-80 y/o cedar and fir trees on the south side of the house and they are tall enuff to block the signals.I suppose cutting one down would be a criminal offense.

RE: first time full timer here i need help with a few questions

that will give me 30 watts thats 2 amps per hour , If you're lucky you'll get 1.5, and for only a few hours per day in direct overhead sun. Solar is highly overrated as far as acual output. That's way too little solar power for any serious boondocking. Think hundreds of watts.

RE: Occassional Satellite usage

across the driveway,70' from the house, and 20' up a pole and even then they couldn't guarantee it. You must live under a very thick forest, or next to a cliff.

RE: Riviera RV Park,Las Vegas

That park is pretty close to downtown, which is not a very nice part of town.

RE: Charging Deep Cycle Batteries over the Winter

11.99 Probably normal for a deep cycle battery that is never supposed to start an engine? No. too low. Is it dangerous (bad for the battery) to attempt take a deep cycle battery to 14.5V with my intelligent charger? no (its a 900mA charger by the way) Too much charging or not enough?? That's a very small charger. not enough (Yes I removed the caps) that's never necessary.

RE: Xantrex inverter/charger hookup.

switch to Gelcell batteries Gels aren't often used anymore. either flooded wet cells or AGMs are. Inverters are spark hazards, so placing them in the same compartment as the batteries isn't advised It's not so much the spark thing, it's the acrid environment for the IC. Running the control panel wiring back into the interior of the fiver would be a PITA. Too bad. That may be the least of your worries. Will I need to replace the current (probably inadequate) wiring between the current converter/charger to the batteries with something of a heavier gage Absolutely. Your manual will tell you how big.
